Dyson Wants to Make Flossing Automatic

CameraJet is not just an expensive brush with a novelty camera. Dyson built it around a familiar problem: people often brush, but many skip flossing. The device tries to combine brushing, precision flossing and mouthwash into one continuous routine.

The technology—called Gap Optical Targeting—was trained using 470,000 dental images and runs as part of a system containing 16 million lines of code. Users can choose brush-only, jet-only or combined cleaning modes, while the connected MyDyson app offers live viewing, coverage maps and brushing feedback.
